If it were mine i would gently melt the frayed portions with a lighter to help prevent further fraying. Bad enough for mot failure. The seat belt tensioner was defective and caused the srs light to come on. The reason fraying can be looked at as a big problem rather than a minor one is that it can cause several other issues with the seat belt.

You just wave the flame closer and closer to the furry edge until the heat curls the hair into the belt. I don t care about repair as i have a 2008 belt from my scrap car that i have ready to use.
